Tariq Al Farsi, CEO of Alraffd Fund and a Board member of Authority for the development of small and medium enterprises and Chairman of the Executive Member of Public Authority for the development of small and medium enterprises (Aged 38) - Omani national, has a successful track record and distinctive in the establishment of Islamic Banks with experience for more than fifteen years in the transactions, retail banks and corporate investment projects in various multi-national and regional financial institutions. Mr. Al Farsi was a senior member of the teams behind the start-up of two Islamic banks, namely Noor Islamic Bank and Al Hilal at UAE and the first Islamic Bank in the Sultanate of Oman Bank Nizwa. He joined alraffd Fund from Nizwa Bank where he held position General Manager. Prior to this he was a General Manager in Noor Investment Group and was also a senior team member of Sharjah Islamic Bank, RAK Bank and HSBC. Al Farsi holds a BA in Management from AAST University in Alexandria and various certifications in Islamic Banking, Finance and Audit. He has completed a wide range of international professional development courses and is an active member of UAE Human Rights organisation, an alumnus of the H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Leadership Program (affiliated with Kennedy School of Government - Harvard University ), an alumnus of INSEAD, and is a member of the panel on SMEs for "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation". In addition to being vice-chairman of the committee on the Ministry of Manpower Omanisation, he attends a doctorate in Islamic Banking and its role in the sector, small and medium enterprises at a university in Britain.
