Basma joined NCB in 2006 as a manager of social programs in Corporate Responsibility Department and Editor-in-chief of the “One Community” Magazine issued by the Department. She served in several positions in the Bank: Senior Manager of Community Relations (2008); Senior Manager of Corporate Responsibility Programs; Deputy Head of Corporate Responsibility Department (2012). After merging Corporate Responsibility Department and Sustainability & Business Development Department under one department “Corporate Responsibility Department”, Basma was appointed as the Head of the Department in the beginning of 2014.
In her position as the Head of Corporate Responsibility in one of the biggest banks in the Middle East, she mainly focused at:
- Developing the new strategy of Corporate Responsibility within NCB;
- Launching the new identity of Corporate Responsibility under the name of “Ahalina”.
Al Jawhari was one of the leaders that supervised and executed several programs, enabling the bank to win various local and international awards in the Corporate Responsibility field, including without limitation:
- Middle East Leadership Award in Corporate Responsibility (2008-2011);
- King Khalid Responsible Competitiveness Award in Corporate Responsibility Field for three consecutive years 2009, 2010 and 2011.
- IABC EME EMERALD Award for the best Community Relation Projects in Europe and Middle East.
- Best CSR Practices Award in Asia from Singapore.
- Mohamed bin Rashid Award for best bank supporting entrepreneurs in the Arab World.
- Best Women Charity Initiatives Award in female entrepreneurs forum.
Also, she represented NCB in various local and international events, conferences and symposiums, in addition to submitting papers work on the management & development of Corporate Responsibility Strategies, as well as the role of private sector in Corporate Responsibility. In particular, she was chosen by Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency “SAMA” to
present the role of the Saudi Banks in Corporate Responsibility field to the President of the World Bank and his entourage during their first visit to the Kingdom, and through the presence of the HE Minister of Finance and HE Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency.
Moreover, Bamsa has an effective role in local corporate activities and was nominated for membership of many committees and boards in the field of Corporate Responsibility. She was elected in the year of 2015 to be the Chairwoman of Corporate Social Responsibility Committee at Jeddah Chamber.
Al Jawhari, earned her bachelor degree with honor in social service from Umm Al-Qura University, she also obtained the high diploma in “International Protocols and Etiquette” from Villa Pierrefeu Institute in Switzerland. Additionally, she became a “Certified Consultant in Personal & Corporate Image” through joining London Image Institute in United Kingdom.
Before joining NCB, she worked in various jobs, where she was a manager of media affairs and awareness programs in the Disabled Children Association in 2003 – 2006, then she joined the Saudi TV as a presenter of the awareness program for dealing with people of special needs in 2003 - 2005, she started her professional career as social specialist in Al-Nahda Women Association Charity in Riyadh.
